But wait a minute, you may say, none of the cats in the Kitty Cat Kawaii Band are black and white!  When I originally started working on the piece, the lead singer was suppose to look more like Oreo.

However, I didn’t like the way it was turning out.  Then I read a book about how to draw Kawaii style and that inspired the direction of the picture.

One of the pieces of advice in the book was to keep it simple and obviously it was simpler to keep the cats a single color.  I’m really happy with how it turned out.

This cutie here is part of the inspiration for Ninja Kitty. Her name is Olivia.

The other part was due to the fact that at the time I was a computer teacher. (I taught grades 3rd through 12th. (Yep, you read that right!)) One of the things my students learned was computer graphics. To introduce them to one of the graphics program, we made ninjas! The kids loved it.

One night after school, when Olivia was still a kitten, she was playing with some toys and doing what seemed like flips and stuff. Since I had ninjas on the brain from teaching, I put two and two together and thus Ninja Kitty was born!

Fun Ninja Kitty Facts:

• Ninja Kitty is a member of an elite kitty fighting group called the Kitty Protectors. The other members are Sumo Kitty, Warrior Kitty and Samurai Kitty.
• Ninja Kitty was deemed to violent by Red Bubble for their children’s clothing.
• To date, I’ve made two Kitty Protectors animations in which Ninja Kitty appears. (I hope to make more soon!) You can see them here.  
• A variety of Ninja Kitty (and Kitty Protector) items can be found at my shops on Zazzle, RedBubble, Imagekind, Skreened and CafePress.
